The state government amended the lockdown guidelines on Saturday, May 1.
As per new guidelines which are applicable from Sunday, May 2, in order to avoid overcrowding, weekly markets have been banned and hop come, milk booths, pushcarts selling vegetables and fruits are allowed from 6.00 am till 6.00 pm. APMC and grocery shops are allowed to stay open from 6.00 am till 12 noon.
Strict instructions are issued and sellers are told not to sell products above-market prices.
It may be recalled, Karnataka is currently under lockdown for 14 days as the government led by BS Yediyurappa took the decision regarding ‘lockdown like curbs amid the rising Covid cases in the state.
