Udupi: District in-charge minister Pramod Madhawraj pays fine for riding bike without helmet

Udupi 12 Nov 2017: Udupi District in-charge minister, Pramod Madhawraj had to pay fine for not wearing helmet while riding the bike on the roads.

Earlier on Nov 9 (Thursday) pictures of the minister riding bike without helmet stirred controversy after the pictures went viral on Social Media, leading to an public uproar and several comment being posted online.

As per the reports, the minister on Thursday reached ahead of the time for an event and after realizing it the minister started riding bike in the locality for fun without helmet.

After the controversy Udupi SP, Dr Sanjeev M Patil cleared that the minister himself paid the fine of Rs. 100.

Following the incident the police department has shown their vigilance and warned people for causing inconvenience to the traffic and against illegal parking on the roads. SP Patil along with DSP and other police officials were seen personally monitoring the traffic woes in the city on Saturday and announced that the department will take stringent actions from Monday against violators.
