Honnavar: Search mission launched to rescue missing fishermen

Manki 16 November 2018: Manki police have registered a missing case after two fishermen who left for fishing on Wednesday night did not return back to the shore here at Idugunji of Honnavar taluka.

The missing victims have been identified as Lakshman Ambig (42) and Ganapati Ambig (25), both resident of Idugunji of Honnavar Taluka.

According to the reports, the duo had left for fishing in Sharavati river of Honnavar on Wednesday night, but did not return back till Friday morning.

A search operation was also launched but the personnel failed to trace the two, it has been speculated that the duo must have sailed into the waters after losing control over their sail.

A case has been registered at Manki police station, and investigations in the matter are underway.
