Prisoner who escaped from police custody at Ankola, caught at Madgaon railway station

Ankola 11 February 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) A prisoner who escaped by jumping the window of toilet from Ankola bus stand on January 4, was caught by the police at Madgaon railway station on Sunday.

The convict Raju Ravi(29) of Gadag district was accused for double murder, attack on police and six robbery cases. After he was found guilty at Dharwad high court, he was being taken on a government bus to Mangalore jail. However, when he went to toilet at Ankola bus stand he escaped from there by jumping from the window there.

The police working on the tip-off and evidences, finally detained the him on Sunday at Mudgaon railway station.

On direction of CPI Pramod Kumar, PSI Shridhar SR, ASI CM Naik, Hawaldar, Shridar Naik and others were present during the operation.
