Mangaluru: Prostitution racket busted; three arrested by CCB

Mangaluru Dec 10 2017: City Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday December 08 seized two mobile phones worth over 15,000 Rs. and cash of 2500 Rs. when they raided and busted a prostitution racket from a private apartment in Kadri Police Station limits. The CCB also arrested three people in this connection including a woman pimp.

The arrested have been identified as Sujata alias Arundhati (29), a local, Manjunath (38), a native of Ballari, Harish (50) from Malpe in Udupi.

Sujata was reportedly running the prostitution business in her apartment by ‘hiring’ girls for the business. The three arrested accused have been handed over to the Kadri police for investigation while the girls in the business have been rescued.

Manjunath and Harish both are said to be the customers of Sujata’s brothel.

Mangaluru commissioner TR Suresh personally monitored the raid by the CCB.
