Karwar: Fisherman reports loss of over Rs. 20 lakhs as miscreants set fishing nets on fire

Karwar 06 June 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A local fisherman Rohidas Banavali, reported a loss worth Rs 20 lacs after some miscreants allegedly burnt his set of fishing nets that was stored at Sarvodaya Nagar of Karwar here on Tuesday 05 June 2018.

The fishing nets that belonged to Rohidas, was stored behind Sagar Darshan hall of Sarvodaya Nagar. But, on Tuesday late night some miscreants trespassed the place and set ablaze the fishing nets into ashes.

As the police and the fire brigade personnel were alerted by the locals, they soon rushed to the spot and washed off the fire. However the police is investigating the casse and a manhunt for the miscreants has been launched.

A case has been registered at Karwar Town police station.
