Karwar 13 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Uttara Kannada Deputy Coomissioner SS Nakul has issued red notice to all the landowners of five Taluks who have lost their land during the NH 66 widening project, asking them to furnish their land documents in order to receive compensation.
He also warned of taking over the land without issuing any prior notice, if the land owners fail to furnish the required documents.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner had issued notices and asked the landowners of Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar and Bhatkal Taluks to furnish the documents, but most of the landowners in these Taluks ignored the notice and did not submit the documents, which resulted in the district administration facing problems going ahead National Highway widening and disbursement of the compensation.
Nakul hence, now has issued final (red) notice to all the land owners and asked them to furnish essential documents to the special officer of land acquisition immediately. If the landowners fail to furnish the documents, the lands will be acquired as per National Highway Act.
