Belagavi 04 Dec 2017: Raju Topannanavar, BJP Genereal Secretary of Mahanagar block in Belagavi, called a press conference and released a video which show Pakistani National Anthem being played during Eid Milad procession while a few congress leaders can be seen dancing. The BJP leader also sent the video clip to the mobile phones of few reporters as well, which was followed by a few local media channels airing it.

However timely intervention by the police saved the day for the administration and locals as the police investigated the case and found the video to be ‘fake and doctored’.

Mr. Topannanavar, claimed during the press conference that M Muzammil, M Azeem and Nazeem the local congress leaders were present during the procession and were dancing to the tunes of Pakistani National Anthem.

Amarnath Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, however clarified that the video visuals were that of a rally which was taken out two years ago and he was present their on the duty during that rally. He further clarified that no such incident of playing Pakistani Anthem took place then and the audio in the video has been altered and doctored to inject communal hatred in the region.

Mr. Reddy said, Some video editor uploaded the video on social media with doctoredd audio and a detailed investigation will be done in the matter and that will reveal the truth. He added, ” Such acts are punishable under rule of law and the department will follow proper procedure to bring the perpetrator to justice.
