Tiger attacks, kill cow in Bhatkal, panicked residents call for action

Bhatkal 29 November 2019: A Tiger allegedly killed a cow near Konar region on the outskirts of Bhatkal Taluk here during the wee hours of Thursday.

According to sources, the cow belonging to Shrinivas Hebbar, was found dead near the bridge of Konar village. The Veterinary Doctor visited the spot and conducted the post mortem and concluded that the tiger had attacked the cow.

Local farmer, Shridhar Hebbar suspected that the tiger might have chased the cow from its shed and hunted it near the bridge.

He further questioned the accountability of the authorities if the tiger attacks people in the region. He raised the question adding that the authorities have seized their guns due to the by-elections that are to be held in the state next month.
