Bhatkal: October 13, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) After lockdown was eased in Bhatkal, hawkers had set-up thier shops from Shamsuddin Circle to Tengungunde Cross and a large number of people were seen shopping there.

But due to the commencement of construction work on the National Highway in Bhatkal and the huge congestion on the roadside, municipal officials of Bhatkal, in presence of the Tehsildar, removed all the hawkers from the highway side and warned them not to re-install the shops here.

It may be recalled that due to the closure of Santa Market (Sunday Market) in Bhatkal for seven months, the hawkers were making a living by selling vegetables, fruits, fish and many other household items in these shops.
