Bhatkal: Rabita honours Academic performers, Shams English School bags three top awards

“Education only way out for Muslims in current scenario”: Dr. Shakeel Samdhani

Bhatkal 11 August 2017: Dr. Shakeel Samdhani, HOD Law department Aligarh Muslim university spoke about the history of Muslim and how were they successful in conquering and ruling the world for over six hundred years. He said Education was the key right from the beginning, as the first revelation of Quran was about Education. He expressed his disappointment over the current state of our community and blamed backwardness in Educational field as the main reason for being backward in society. He further said, if Muslims want to empower themselves in the society then Mastering the educational fields is the only way out.  He was addressing the prestigious Rabita Awards ceremony here at Anjuman Campus ground on Friday.

He also congratulated the Rabita Society Bhatkal for organizing the awards consistently for 25 years and spoke about the need of starting such ventures in other cities and towns. He also lauded the younger lot for taking up civil services as their career as recently many of the Muslim candidates were seen topping the rank charts in UPSC exams, and said it can be of great help in future for the community.

He also urged the Rabita society to work for starting a law college in the town and encourage the students to take up careers in law as the community is missing its own Judges at several levels.

Speaking about the diversity of India he said, being a democratic country India gives its citizen the right to criticize the government but it is important to use that right in a correct manner at on a correct platform instead of using social media for trolls and jokes against the government.

Chief Guest of the event UT Khader, Minister of Food and Public Distribution in Karnataka spoke briefly about the importance of Education in modern world and also lauded the efforts of Rabota society in coming up with such innovative idea of awarding students.

The event began with recitation of Holy Quran by Abdul Muqeet Nadwi, while Rabita tarana was sung by Zafeef Shingeri. Rabita general secretary Yunus Kazia welcomed the guests and audience while Pillor sadiq presided over the event.

Shams English Medium school took the jackpot home by bagging all the three top awards of Best Student, Best Teacher and also bagged Usman Jubapu rolling trophy awarded to the best school every year. Raza Manvi who has been serving the institution for more than 20 years bagged the best teacher award, while a female student who scored 97% marks in her SSLC bagged the best student award.
