Bhatkal: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Taking note of the spike in number of COVID-19 cases in the state and following detection of Omicron variant in Karnataka, majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem on Saturday organised a press conference urging people not to panic about the situation.
Speaking for Tanzeem, Dr. Haneef Shabab stated that taking precautionary measures is important as the Omicron variant is a super-spreader but he also added that people need not panic as there is no evidence so far posing it as a fatal variant of the virus.
He urged people to follow all the COVID guidelines set by the government and to get both doses of COVID vaccines at the earliest.
Speaking about the efficiency of the vaccines, Dr. Haneef Shabab noted that it is one of the only few measures that can cap the number of cases and fatalities hence people should refrain from opposing the vaccination drives by the government and instead, should volunteer to be vaccinated.
“People should volunteer to get vaccinated and should also encourage people in their families and localities to get their vaccination doses. If people from a certain locality wishes, they can coordinate with the officials of Tanzeem to arrange vaccination camps in their respective localities,” Dr. Shabab said.
Abdul Raqeeb MJ, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem was also present during the press conference.
