Bhatkal: September 10, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) It has been raining in Karnataka for the last two or three days. However, considering the wind pressure, the department has forecast heavy rains in coastal Karnataka for the next four days, while a red alert has been issued on September 12 in Dakshin Karnataka, Udupi and Uttara Karnataka.

The Meteorological Department has warned fishermen not to go fishing these days, fearing high winds.

It has been heavily in Bhatkal since this morning. Meanwhile, it was reported that a Bhatkal boat that had gone fishing on Wednesday was stranded near Nataharani Island due to strong winds while returning this morning with a total of 24 people from Bhatkal and surrounding areas. A Coast Guard boat has sailed from Malpa to bring them safely to shore and they are expected to reach Bhatkal soon with their safety.

It is said that the boat had gone for fishing yesterday but was stranded in the sea at night due to lack of fish. This morning, while returning from fishing, the boat’s engine malfunctioned near Kanda hill, an hour’s sail from Bhatkal beach, causing the boat to return to Nataharani Island due to strong winds.
