Election Commission organise voter’s awareness rally in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 13 March 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) Election Commission of India in association with District Administration of Uttara Kannada, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation committee (SVEEP) Uttara Kannada jointly organised voter’s awareness rally here at Bhatkal on Tuesday.

Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sajid Ahmed Mulla on Wednesday morning flagged off the voter’s awareness rally from Islamic Anglo Urdu High School (IAUHS) ground. The rally passed through Shamsuddin Circle and various places of Bhatkal Taluka and then returned back to IAUHS ground before dispersing.

Prior to the rally, a small inaugural program was organised where, AC Sajjid Ahmed Mulla addressed the gathering and said, “Having our name on voter’s list is not the only thing we should do. Our job is not done until we cast our vote on the day of election”.

Students and lecturers from various colleges, folk artists, physically challenged people, and locals took part in rally.

Placards displaying importance of voting were carried along the rally by the students and while several slogans were also raised for creating the awareness about importance of casting votes.

Bhatkal Taluka Panchayat CEO Prabhakar, Bhatkal BEO MR Munji, CPI KL Ganesh and other officials were present during the rally.
