Bhatkal: Depressed fisherman commits suicide

Bhatkal 9 August 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) 38-year-old tippler, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree at Heruru village of Bhatkal in the wee hours of Wednesday 8 August, the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained,

The deceased has been identified as Gopal Manju Gonda, a resident of Heruru of Bhatkal Taluka.

Gopal, a fisherman by profession was addicted to alcohol, and on August 7 he left his house at night for fishing and on the next day around 9:30 am in the morning his body was found hanging in a tree with a nylon rope.

The locals alleged that he committed suicide due to depression over an unknown reason.

The rural police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station.
