Mangalore: October 31, 2020 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Last year, the Union Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to give Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangalore airports to Adani Group for 50 years under public-private partnership.  After which the group was given the responsibility of Jaipur, Guwahati and Tiruvanantapuram airports this year.

Under this, today all the arrangements of Mangalore International Airport have been taken over by Adani Group. In fact, the Adani Group will take over the airport from midnight on Friday, October 30, but the formal transfer took place today, October 31.

Although the airport has been handed over to the Adani Group, the Airport Authority of India and the Adani Group will work together.  The Adani Group will take care of money exchange, trading activities, profit and loss management while the Airport Authority of India will handle all the arrangements for flights.

According to sources, the arrival and departure of flights will be handled by the Airport Authority of India.  This means that both the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the Communications and Navigation Center will be maintained by the Airport Authority of India.  In addition to security and airline staff, the Adani Group will handle the terminal building, runways, electrical and civil works.
