Beary's welfare forum to organize mass marriage for poor Muslim girls
Bearys Welfare Forum in Abu Dhabi will organise a community wedding to help girls from poor Muslim families enter wedlock in the first week of January, 2008.
The forum will spend upto Rs 1 lakh on a couple to bear the cost of jewellry for the bride, financial help for the couple and cost of wedding. Muslim families in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district can avail the benefits of the community wedding and the marriage of a maximum of 10 couples will be conducted on the occasion.
Priority will be given for orphans and disabled girls and those girls who have crossed the marriageable age. The entire responsibility of finding the bridegroom will be on the applicant alone. The applications with complete details including name, age and complete address of both the bride and bridegroom, confirmation certificate from the Jamaath and telephone numbers for contacting must reach the Forum office within December 20. Those who are selected for the community wedding will be informed about the date and place of the wedding and other details within December 30.
